Dam Project completed in record time

 A 12-month rehabilitation of the White Plains Dam was completed in four weeks.  The City of White Plains DPW awarded Arben Group a contract in August 2007 and Arben Group carefully planned the project in September and began fieldwork in October with all equipment, materials and crews ready to perform the work.

The project consisted of lowering the water level in the reservoir approximately 10-15 feet and repointing of over 12,000 square feet of stone dam fascia. In addition, Arben pressure injected 70 selected areas of the dam with seal foam urethane grout.

The work was done to stabilize the Dam and protect the integrity of the structure.  The inspection crew and White Plains DPW officials were highly impressed with the way in which the project was performed. 

A key aspect of the work was the design and fabrication of special scaffolding which bolted to the top of the dam and allowed multiple crews access to both the upstream and down stream portions of the Dam.
